I am fortunate to have been asked to support some young people in entering this competition. I spent quite some time online trying to discover how others have tackled this creative challenge over the years so I thought I would share what we did – acrostically over a 5/6 week hour lesson period. (RR – Acrostic often helps me to pull my creative thoughts into order, often provides a hook, but best not to contrive)

We used the Expressive Arts Benchmarks and Aberdeenshire Expressive Arts Curriculum Framework to formulate learning intentions, success criteria and identify skills for the children to develop and explore.
